No uploads — by architecture
Most online PDF services upload your file to their servers, process it there and keep it for some time. Osd-Scan works differently: all processing runs locally in your browser. Our server only delivers the website itself; it never receives your files.
What stays on your device
- Documents and images you open
- Camera photos taken in the scanner
- Results you download
- Your saved signature (only in your browser's local storage, if you choose to create one)
Encryption
Protect PDF uses AES-256, the strongest encryption in the PDF standard. Redact PDF permanently removes content by rebuilding affected pages — covered text cannot be recovered.
Transport security
The website is served over HTTPS. All program libraries are hosted by us, not loaded from third-party CDNs.
Verify it yourself
Open your browser's developer tools (F12) → Network tab while using any tool: you will see that no file content is sent anywhere. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded.
